The appointed councillor for Ward 28 will be my representative, so I’d like all candidates to briefly outline their Matt Elliott policy.

So this Ward 28 appointment race has come down to Mike Creek (endorsed by McConnell family) vs. Lucy Troisi (endorsed by the budget chief).

Would be pretty absurd to give McConnell’s seat to someone who doesn’t want greater investment in public services.

This debate is getting pretty uncomfortable. Lots of speculation about what a dead woman would have wanted.
Appointment vote is multi-round process, until winner gets majority of votes. If only general elections could be done with a similar process

With Shiner, McMahon, Palacio and Colle as swing votes, Troisi has the edge. Could also see a tie, though.
Second ballot is in. Lucy Troisi is your new Ward 28 councillor, winning with 24 votes to second place Michael Creek’s 19 votes.
Here’s how the final vote looked. All four swing votes from first round went to Troisi.
